MABAS Division 39 Radio Numbering System
Effective May 28, 2008

The following system has been adopted for use by all MABAS Division 39 agencies.  Each member agency has been assigned a block of 100 numbers.  Within each 100 number block there are specific ranges of numbers for both personnel and equipment. The chart below shows the blocks of numbers assigned to each agency:

Within a block of numbers, each department is further numbered according the following chart:
 
Chief - Fire Department Chief
01
Officers - Fire Department Command Staff
02-09
Personnel - Firefighters and Support  Staff
11-49
Ambulances - basic life support ambulance vehicle. Minimum manpower of (2) persons, level EMT-A, or higher
51-55
Trucks - aerial ladder with equipment capable of rescue, ventilation, and water tower operations. Minimum manpower is four (4) persons.
56-59
Engines - combination vehicle - pumper and hose with equipment similar to NFPA 1901. Minimum manpower is four (4) persons
61-69
Tenders - tanker capable of delivering a minimum of 1,000 gallons of water and  a minimum manpower is two (2) persons
71-75
Rescue Squads - vehicle with extrication equipment, flood lights, air cascade system, foam/water capability, spare air tanks, etc.
76-79
Brush Trucks - lighter duty vehicle capable of off-road operation with a tank and sprayers for wide area water delivery
81-85
Boats - water craft equipped with rescue equipment
86-89
Support - command vehicles, trailers, generators, ATV, etc.
91-99

Examples:

Aledo FD Chief would be "1201", 1200-series for Aledo and 01 for the Chief
Barstow FD Assistant Chief would be "1702", 1700-series for Barstow and 02 for an Officer
Colona FD Polaris Ranger ATV would be 2591, 2500-series for Colona and 91 for Support
Hampton FD old Engine 1 would be "2961", 2900-series for Hampton and 61 for an Engine
