General Primary Election Dates

August 4, 2009 – First day to circulate nomination papers for established political party candidates

 October 26, 2009 – First day for candidates of established political parties to file original nomination papers in the office of the county clerk

 November 2, 2009 – Last day by 5:00 p.m. for candidates of established political parties to file original nomination papers in the office of the county clerk

 January 6, 2010 – First day for grace period voting

 ·       During this period an unregistered qualified elector may register to vote as long as they have lived in the precinct for 30 days.
·       A registered voter may submit a change of address during this period also.
·       In both of these cases each shall be done in the Henry County Clerk’s Office and in both cases each must vote in the Henry County Clerk’s Office at this time.

 January 11, 2010 – First day to vote in person at the respective City Clerk’s Office

 January 11, 2010 – First day for early voting at the Henry County Clerk’s Office

 January 19, 2010 – Last day for grace period voting

 January 28, 2010 – Last day for early voting

 January 28, 2010 – Last day to apply for an absentee ballot by mail and also the last day for the County Clerk’s Office to mail out absentee ballots

 February 1, 2010 – Last day to vote in person at the County Clerk’s Office and also at the respective City Clerk’s Offices
