The first day to absentee vote is December 24, 2009, for the General Primary Election, which will be held on February 2, 2010.  The last day to accept applications for absentee ballots through the mail is Thursday, January 28th, 2010, and the last day for in person absentee voting in the Office of the County Clerk, is Monday, February 1st, 2010.

Hours for absentee voting at the Office of the County Clerk are Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.  The Henry County Courthouse will be closed December 24 and December 25, 2009 in observance of Christmas, also January 18th, 2010 in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

Illinois law now permits a person to request and vote an absentee ballot without specifying a reason for the absence from the polling place on Election Day.  Any elector may by mail, or by personal delivery, make an application to the County Clerk for an official ballot for the voter’s precinct to be voted at such election.

Absentee ballot applications may be obtained from the County Clerk’s Office or click below for an absentee application.
