PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
All of Henry County’s Court Services Officers are members of the
Illinois Probation & Court Services Association (IPCSA).
Founded in 1969, the Illinois Probation & Court Services Association
was organized to serve as a forum for the exchange of ideas and
strategies regarding probation and court services for both juvenile and
adult offenders.
Boasting 31 charter members in 1969, the Association has grown to
over 1,000 members, in probation officers, detention officers, judges
and related professionals.
IPCSA coordinates major legislative, training and programmatic
initiatives with the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC).
The Association also works closely with other organizations including
the Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse(OASA), the Illinois
Correctional Association (ICA), the Illinois Juvenile Justice
Commission, the Illinois State Bar Association, the John Howard
Association, Justice Fellowship, League of Women Voters, University of
Illinois Springfield and TASC, INC. Hospitals, juvenile homes, substance
abuse centers and security system representatives round out an
impressive list of organizations working together to maintain a high
standard of service to the courts, the community and to their clients.
IPCSA has also actively supported many organizations such as Big
Brother/Big Sister, Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, women’s
shelters, and flood and hurricane relief funds, to name a few.
Two training conferences are held every year, providing members with
current and relevant information concerning the latest technologies, new
and pending legislation, and the changes surrounding their profession.
Attendance at these conferences range form 350 to 500 IPCSA members.
An awards ceremony is held during the Fall Conference in October to
allow outstanding association members to be recognized for excellence in
their fields.
IPCSA also offers to its members the opportunity to serve on
specialized committees, which develop proposals relating to the
operational guidelines in their respective areas.

Some of our staff is also affiliated with the American Probation and
Parole Association (APPA).
"The American Probation and Parole Association is an international
association composed of individuals from the United States and Canada
actively involved with probation, parole and community-based
corrections, in both adult and juvenile sectors. All levels of
government including local, state/provincial, legislative, executive,
judicial, and federal agencies are counted among its constituents. By
taking the initiative, APPA has grown to become the voice for thousands
of probation and parole practitioners including line staff, supervisors
and administrators. Educators, volunteers and concerned citizens with an
interest in criminal and juvenile justice are also among APPA's members.
APPA will continue to effectively provide services to its constituents.
The association represents a strong, unified voice for the field of
community corrections."
