Both parties must sign

The marriage license
is good for 60 days from day of purchase.
A one day waiting
period is required
LICENSE IS GOOD:
Only in the County
where marriage ceremony is performed.
The license cannot be
used in any other country.
FEE:
The fee is $25.00 (as
of 6/1/2008).
AGE REQUIRED:
18 years of age - *without parental consent.
Under 18 years of age
-
*MUST have BOTH parents sign a consent form in the County Clerk’s Office at the time you apply for the license.
*If this is not possible, a Notary MUST sign the form WHEN parents sign their names.
PROOF OF AGE:
Under 18 years of age
- *A birth certificate is required when applying for licenses.
18 years of age -
*A driver’s license may be used.
A parent is deceased -
*A death certificate or proof of guardianship, or court
order
waiving consent must be presented.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION:
The state of Illinois
does NOT require a blood test.
It is recommended that
the parties see their physician.
NON-RESIDENTS:
Non-residents CANNOT
obtain a marriage license if the said marriage would be void in
their state.
FILING THE MARRIAGE
LICENSE:
The license MUST be
returned to the County Clerk’s Office by the officiate of the
ceremony within 10 days after the date of the marriage.
MARRIAGE
BY A JUDGE:
If you wish to be
married by a judge, you may make your own arrangements prior to the
ceremony by calling the Circuit Clerk’s Office at 309-937-3572.
CERTIFIED COPY OR
LICENSE:
Send a request letter
with bride’s maiden name, groom’s name, date of marriage and a fee
of $12.00 (money or band draft) with a self-addressed envelope to
the County Clerk’s Office.
Additional certified
copies may be obtained for $4.00 each if ordered at the same time.
